Our Process

A delightful client experience resulting in the best version of the image you’re looking for

We understand that professional photography and video production is an investment. We’re committed to making that investment pay off. Consequently, all our work, regardless of medium, size or complexity, follows an overall process designed to provide you with transparency, control, and convenience and, importantly to produce the best versions of the photographs or video assets you’re looking for.

Engagement

First, we review the information you provide via phone, online booking, or another briefing. Then, we follow up with you to ensure we fully understand your production’s parameters and success criteria. After that, we use this information to create a proposal. The proposal will include production and postproduction details, including shot lists and a creative brief, deliverables, rights granted, resources, and itemized costs. The included expenses are based on our standard rates, which can be found here. Once we finalize and you approve the proposal, it becomes a project and moves to the preproduction phase.  Changes after this point may result in schedule or cost changes.

Preproduction

We plan and manage your production to put everything in place for successful execution. This includes securing, scheduling, and managing resources and coordinating accurate, up-to-date information among stakeholders. In addition we organize resources, activities, work products, and approvals leading up to and during production. Altogether, this can include creative partners, talent, stylists, props, sets, locations and permits, equipment, or other items or roles specified in the proposal.

Production

We organize the shoot and provide the production resources and expertise to capture the media that is the basis for the final deliverables. In addition, we make sure everything and everyone is prepared and on set for production. During production, we communicate with stakeholders to update, verify and finalize shot lists and other evolving work products. Finally, we ensure stakeholders have opportunities to review, comment on, verify, and approve interim and final work products. Once the shoot is complete, your project enters the postproduction phase.

Postproduction and delivery

We produce the final deliverables in accordance with criteria in the proposal and using the media captured during production. This phase includes one or more review cycles before final delivery where stakeholders may comment on and approve interim work products. Work is delivered via our secure online portal or another agreed upon method.
